Tony Blair’s Chinese billionaire friend jailed for 30 years in US

An exiled Chinese billionaire who was friends with Sir Tony Blair has been jailed for 30 years in the US after misusing nearly $1bn (£730m) donated by his followers. Guo Wengui, who was well connected across political circles in both Washington and London, built a substantial following after fleeing China and reinventing himself as a critic of Beijing.
