Migrants heading for Britain told to ‘pay ransom or lose kidney’

More than 300 migrants heading to the UK were kidnapped and threatened with kidney removal unless they paid ransoms. The young men, from Iraqi Kurdistan, told the BBC they were captured by a Libyan militia and held hostage until their families paid $5,000 (£3,700).
