Screen time ‘damages children more than being born into poverty’

Screen time damages children more than being born into poverty, a study has found. The impacts of screen time on children’s development were “similar in magnitude to or larger” than other factors linked to child development and mental health outcomes, including level of wealth, parenting behaviours and whether or not they were born prematurely, researchers found.
